Children and adults participate in a cultural workshop

Our Story

Sk’il’ Mountain Community School in Shalalth, BC, stands proudly on the land of the Tsal’alhmec People and reflects the values, traditions, and vision of the community. Since 2000, our school has grown into a place where cultural identity and academic learning come together.

In 2021, we began a new chapter as an Independent School supported by:

  • Tsal’alh Administration
  • First Nations Schools Association
  • First Nations Education Steering Committee

Food Program

We offer a daily food program providing breakfast, recess snacks, and lunch. Weekly menus are posted, and parents are encouraged to review them with their children. Students may bring their own lunch and extra snacks as needed.

All school supplies are provided. Students only need:

  • Indoor Shoes
  • A Backpack

Our Vision

We recognize that we hold this earth in trust for future generations. With this promise in mind, we strive to create a healthy environment where students can achieve success and discover the richness of their culture.

Our Mission

To prepare leaders for tomorrow by embracing both traditional and modern-day teachings.
